Safety checks should be a repeatable routine rather than a memory test. Before each use, the team should confirm that the room, equipment, and personnel are ready according to institutional policy and the manufacturer’s instructions.
Confirm staff training and authorization, wavelength-appropriate eyewear, controlled access to the treatment area, warning signage, and the local emergency process. Infection-control requirements should also be integrated where applicable.
Inspect the handpiece, articulated arm, connections, foot pedal, cooling or evacuation setup, and safety interlocks. If a warning, mechanical defect, or performance concern is identified, stop use and follow the service process.
